Built in 2025, this Saguache County project pairs a 40×48 barndominium with a 40×40 attached garage and two 8×48 porches. VWC built the shell and framed the interior. Dirt work and concrete were not part of our contract, and the homeowner completed the interior finishes.

Two Covered Porches

Two 8×48 porches, about 9’ high, run along the house on 6×6 pressure-treated posts. The homeowner added the wood porch ceiling.

House Details

The 40×48 house has 10’ walls, a 6/12 roof pitch, trusses 24” on center, 2×6 wall purlins and house wrap. It has 29-gauge Tuff Rib panels with a black roof, trim and wainscot and charcoal gray sidewalls. Insulation is R21 in the walls and R49 in the roof.

The Garage

The 40×40 garage has 12’ walls, a 12×10 and a 14×10 overhead door, a walk-in door and a framed 6×8 mechanical room. Insulation is R21 in the walls and roof.

Interior Framing and Homeowner Finishes

VWC framed the interior with 2×6 exterior walls and 2×4 interior walls. From there, the homeowner completed the interior finishes, including the kitchen and wood accent walls.
