The Townsend Project is a custom-built 50×100 pole barn designed for high-function vehicle and equipment use. Built with tall sidewalls, reinforced concrete, insulation, and extensive natural light, this structure was planned from the ground up to support specialty equipment, shop workflows, and long-term durability.

Building Specifications & Features
This pole barn was designed with height, strength, and interior usability as top priorities.
Doors & Access
- (2) 36″ walk-in doors with glass windows
- (4) 12′ × 12′ insulated overhead garage door (no opener)
The walk-in doors provide easy daily access while allowing natural light into the building.
Windows & Natural Light
Natural light was a key design consideration for this project.
- (9) 4'x3' insulated side-slider windows
The generous window layout brightens the interior workspace and reduces reliance on artificial lighting.
Concrete Slab & Specialty Foundations
A major feature of this project is the reinforced concrete slab, designed for specialized shop use.
- 4″ concrete slab with rebar reinforcement
- 96″ × 72″ × 52″ recessed pit for dyno installation
- Six 4′ × 8′ × 6″ reinforced sections designed for two-post vehicle lifts
This concrete layout allows for future equipment installation without cutting or modifying the slab later.
Insulation Package
To improve comfort and usability, insulation was included throughout the building.
- Roof Insulation: 4¼″ R-13 vinyl-backed insulation
- Side & End Wall Insulation: 4¼″ R-13 vinyl-backed insulation
This insulation package helps regulate interior temperatures and reduces condensation—important for vehicle storage and shop environments.
Exterior Color Package
- Roof: Rural Red
- Sidewalls: Ash Grey
- Trim: Rural Red
This color combination provides a clean, bold appearance while fitting well into the surrounding landscape.
